A long-arginine analog of insulin-like growth factor 1.
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is an engineered analog of insulin-like growth factor 1. It carries two modifications: an arginine substitution at position three and a 13-amino-acid extension at the N-terminus, which together dramatically reduce its binding to IGF-binding proteins.
Because it evades the binding proteins that normally sequester native IGF-1, the LR3 analog remains active far longer in research systems, making it a widely used reagent in cell-culture studies of growth signaling and proliferation.
CellTheory supplies IGF-1 LR3 as a lyophilized research peptide with HPLC-verified purity, identity confirmed by mass spectrometry, and a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis.
