A bacteriostatic diluent for peptide reconstitution.
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water that contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The benzyl alcohol inhibits the growth of bacteria, which allows the solution to be accessed multiple times over an extended period while maintaining sterility in a research setting.
In peptide research, bacteriostatic water is the standard diluent used to reconstitute lyophilized (freeze-dried) research compounds into solution. Its preservative content distinguishes it from single-use sterile water and makes it well suited to protocols that draw from a vial repeatedly.
CellTheory supplies bacteriostatic water in sealed 10mL vials for laboratory research use, with a Certificate of Analysis provided for every lot.
